​The Gender Equality Research Group, led by Dr. Ofer Katchergin is a multi-institutional group; the areas of its members' expertise include gender from various fields and perspectives. It is affiliated with the Center of Gender Equality Research. More on the Center's aims


•    Researching gender equality problematics in various social fields.
•    Promoting gender equality understanding (theoretical and applied) in our society.
•    Promoting  gender equality in education, and specifically in Oranim student and faculty community.
•     Providing  undergraduate and graduate students opportunities to engage in research group projects.

•    Organization of meetings and workshops.
•    Advocacy to promote gender equality in Israel
•    Organization of a seminar or a conference at the end of the academic year.

Ofer Katchergin,  a senior lecturer in sociology, critical discourse analysis and gender studies is the Head of the Gender Equality Program in Humanities and Arts at Oranim Academic College and the former head of civics and sociology departments in Oranim.  His research topics include the intersection between cultural and historical discourses and gender:  In regard to utopias and dystopias, the intersection between the utopian/dystopian trope and current political ideologies.
